Oklahoma football played Texas Tech at home Saturday night. Here are three takeaways from the Sooners’ victory over the Red Raiders

Oklahoma took on Texas Tech Saturday night at home in Norman and the Sooners came out victorious 49-27. It was the third victory in a row for Oklahoma whereas it was the third loss in a row for the Red Raiders.

Oklahoma has now improved to 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in the Big 12. Texas Tech is now 4-4 overall and 1-4 in the conference. After a wild Saturday, Oklahoma sits tied at the top of the Big 12 with Iowa State, TCU and Oklahoma State.

In the first quarter it appeared the two teams would have another game similar to their meeting last year, a 66-59 victory for Oklahoma. In the 2016 game, the teams combined for over 1,700 yards of total offense.

While it turned out not as crazy as last year’s edition, there were still some offensive fireworks provided by both teams with Oklahoma pulling away in the second half.

Here are three takeaways from the Sooners’ victory on the last Saturday of October.
