UCF Football: Knights score 73 points in pummeling of Austin Peay
UCF Football continues to crush every opponent they face, dominating Austin Peay 73-33 to move to remain perfect, improving to 7-0 on the season.
It’s beginning to get harder and harder to find new words to describe the level of dominance that Central Florida has had in 2017. The Knight scored two or more touchdowns in every quarter of their lopsided victory over the Governors of Austin Peay.
Once again, quarterback Mackenzie Milton led the charge. He threw more touchdown passes (three) than incompletions (two) and finished the game with a 95.7 QBR. The only knock on his performance is that his backup, Noah Vedral, finished with a better QBR (99.0) on a 4-for-5 passing night with 72 yards. Milton threw for 275 yards on 24-for-26 completions.
The Knights had seven different players record a carry on Saturday and finished with five rushing touchdowns as a team. Eleven different players recorded at least one reception. Eight of those players caught a pass of 10 yards or longer. You know it’s a good night when your special teams doesn’t see the field very often. The Knights were held to just one field goal attempt (it was good) and one punt.
UCF entered Week 9 tied with Ohio State for best in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 47.3 points per game. Ohio State shocked the nation with a win over No. 2 Penn State, but the 39 point showing dropped their average. 73 points by UCF makes the Knights the No. 1 scoring offense in the country.

Next up UCF will travel to Texas to play the SMU. Led by wide receiver Courtland Sutton, the Mustangs have entered Week 9 with the No. 11 scoring offense in the country. Nobody has been able to stop the Knights’ offense so far. The Mustangs will have to do their best to outscore them.
