The initial College Football Playoff poll for the 2017 College Football season comes out on Tuesday. And after Week 9, there are about 5-7 teams that have a case to be in the Top 4.

This is the eighth installment of “overreaction Monday” for the 2017 college football season. The eighth installment is also a special College Football Playoff Poll edition. Last week, I pointed out how average undefeated Miami is and how Brian Kelly is my Coach of the Year.

Before we start anything, I need to revisit one of my old overreactions. In the Week 2 edition, I called the Baylor Bears starting the season 0-8. Now we are entering Week 9 and they are 0-8. Also that week, I warned everyone how Sam Darnold needs to stay in school.

Both things are true as we enter Week 9.

Who’s in my top four?

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (duh)

This is so easy even the pollsters can’t get it wrong. Despite Alabama, having no big wins this year in the SEC, it’s still Alabama. The Crimson Tide have dominated every team that has tried to grace the same field as them.

Before the season, I had Florida State beating them. I was wrong (Thanks, Jimbo).

For weeks before the Clemson loss to Syracuse, I believed that this year Clemson’s resume and strength of schedule should have elevated them above Alabama. Clemson lost to Syracuse (Thanks, Dabo).

I am done going against the Tide. At this point, I am just wishing for the Tide to go down in the regular season, but everyone knows that will not happen.

Bama is No. 1 in overall efficiency, No. 4 in offensive efficiency and No. 1 in defensive efficiency
