3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Here is where it is dicey. They have one loss to the second best team in college football, by one point. So, to me that’s not that bad. The Irish have been tested by a strong schedule.

Frankly, the Irish should always have a strong schedule because they aren’t tied to a conference.

They have beaten everyone, beside Georgia, by more than 20 points. Their “closest” win was a 38-18 drubbing of the Michigan State Spartans. They have also beaten NC State and USC. They still have games against Stanford and the worst undefeated team in the nation in Miami.

The Irish are also another surprise team this year. Head coach Brian Kelly has probably coached his best football of his career in 2017 despite all of the off the field antics and distractions. His team is one of the most physical teams in the nation.

They rush for 317.9 yards a game, sixth-most in FBS. They have the third most rushing touchdowns in the FBS with 30.

On defense, they only give up 116.6 yards on the ground and they have given up the least rushing touchdowns in the nation.

And who is my fourth team?
