College Football Overreactions 2017: Week 10 CFB Playoff Poll Edition
4. Ohio State Buckeyes
They have the second best victory of the season against the Penn State Nittany Lions. And they also hold the second-best loss (if that’s even a thing) against Oklahoma.
The game against Penn State meant more than just a win or loss. It proved if J.T. Barrett was a big time quarterback. And for now, the verdict is that he is.
In years past, Barrett has not won the big game in the postseason. In the beginning of the Penn State game, it looked like the same story. But J.T. Barrett brought his team back and they won a close one against the rival Nittany Lions.
This Ohio State defense is ninth in efficiency and gave Saquon Barkley only 44 yards on 21 carries. Barkley got 36 of those yards on one carry.
So minus the 36-yard carry, the Buckeye defense held Barkley to eight yards on 20 carries, that’s 0.4 yards each carry. Starting to remind me of the Leonard Fournette Heisman-hype season.
First Two Out: No. 5 Clemson, No. 6 Wisconsin
Clemson is over Wisconsin because of strength of schedule. This year will be the prime example of why you schedule better teams out of conference. I can’t put a team in when their best non-conference win is Florida Atlantic. Sorry, Badger fans, but just win out and you’re in.
