5. Here we go again with the Aggie quarterback controversies

Kellen Mond has been steadily improving as the season continues on for the Aggies. However, Saturday night was an absolute mess for the true freshman quarterback. He was 8 for 26 passing for all of 56 yards and two interceptions. That stat line was highlighted with quite a few drops as the Aggie receivers seemed to be just uninterested and uninspired in making any kind of comeback on Saturday night.

Mond was injured in the fourth quarter. Enter original starter Nick Starkel.

This was the first action Starkel had seen since breaking an ankle in week one. He completed 8 of 15 passes for 133 yards and a 70 yard touchdown pass to Cameron Buckley. However, he also threw a pick six that killed any chance of an Aggie comeback.

Below is what Sumlin had to say on the change in his post game conference. In addition, he added that this doesn’t change the depth chart one bit at the quarterback position.

However, one look at Aggie fans on social media says that many want a change at quarterback- and head coach for that matter. As a result, even if Mond stays the starter, Texas A&M has yet another quarterback controversy brewing. Good luck talking your way out of this one Coach Sumlin.
