Can Iowa State make the Playoff?

If the Cyclones win out, the case for keeping them out of the Top-4 will be much harder than the one defending putting them in. Iowa State would hold multiple wins over either Oklahoma, Oklahoma State or TCU, along with single wins over all of those teams plus West Virginia, Texas Tech and Kansas State.

They have benefited from playing TCU and Oklahoma State at home, but the road win in Norman will continue to stand tall as long as the Sooners keep winning – which they have done since.

If TCU continues to pile up victories and Oklahoma State remains a darkhorse CFP contender, the resume will be as solid as anyone else for Matt Campbell.

The two losses also came in September, which seems to be a huge benefit for teams making late-season pushes. As we head into November, the chances of Iowa State making the College Football Playoff are at 10 percent.
