Peach Bowl

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: Washington (at-Large) vs. Clemson (at-large)
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, Ga.)
When: Jan. 1, 2018, at noon ET on ESPN
Last week’s projection: Washington vs. Clemson

With all the craziness involving the upsets for Penn State and TCU this past week, on a projection that didn’t get touched was the Peach Bowl. That won’t be last for long and we could see change as soon as this week. Clemson and Washington are both in holding patterns right now, waiting for someone either in their conference or ahead of them in the top four.

For the Tigers, they are looking at what’s going on in South Beach with Virginia Tech and the Miami Hurricanes. A loss by Miami elevates Clemson back into the Orange Bowl (a better spot than the Peach Bowl) and other movements around them would certainly benefit their cause. Washington has fallen into a spot where they need as much chaos around them to happen and as long as they keep winning they can find their way back into the playoff especially with teams like Stanford and Washington State ahead on their schedule.

Week 10 outlook: Washington hosts an Oregon team that is talented but not enough to upset the Huskies in Seattle. Clemson travels to NC State to face a Wolfpack team that almost ruined their perfect season a year ago. Either team can’t afford a loss in this situation because a loss not only knocks you out of the playoff but more than likely out of  New Year’s Six spots.
