How can the No. 2 team in the country be considered a snub? Well, seeing as the Alabama Crimson Tide have been ranked No. 1 all season long in the AP poll, it’s shocking to see them come in as the No. 2 team in the initial rankings.

You know what Nick Saban will say, though? Nothing matters until the season is over. These rankings don’t matter because he knows that if the Tide win out, they’re going to the playoffs yet again. The College Football Playoff may as well be named “Alabama and three other schools” by now.

Alabama hasn’t been tested all that much this season. In fact, the Tide faced off against a Florida State team that has been considered overrated since the loss of Deondre Francois, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. The closest win on the year was against the Aggies on the road.

Should Alabama really be the No. 2 team in the country? Honestly, it’s too early to tell just how good the Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs (No. 1) are. Alabama has been lightly tested, but it might be too soon to move the Tide down to No. 2.
