1. Te’von Coney registers 15 tackles

Linebacker Te’von Coney currently leads the team with 62 total tackles, establishing himself as the ultimate compliment to one of the nation’s most dynamic linebacker units. Coney’s highest tackle total of the season came against Boston College, a game in which he recorded 13 total tackles.

Wake Forest’s offense has been fairly benign up to this point, ranking 47th in points per game to date. The Demon Deacons also average over 41 rushing attempts per game, giving Coney excellent opportunity to record a solid amount of stops on the day. Coney will also have many chances to boost the stats given Wake Forest’s struggles in testing downfield coverage.

Coney has been a special player for the Irish this season, relieving teammates Nyles Morgan and Greer Martini when need be. He will likely see an increased amount of time in this contest considering Morgan’s recent shoulder injury along with Martini’s meniscus surgery. All things considered, there’s a good chance Coney breaks his career high in tackles this Saturday.

Notre Dame’s defense seems to improve week in and week out, much thanks to their experienced linebacker corps. The Irish have had a rich history with linebacker captains, and they appear to be in good hands assuming Coney takes carries the torch next season.
