2. Texas A&M has a running back top 100 yards

Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford were supposed to be one of the better rushing combinations in the SEC. That hasn’t been the case, moreover the burden has fallen on Mond to contribute big plays on the ground. He’s a more than adept runner, but he can’t make up for the lack of production beside him in the back field.

Williams and Ford have combined for three 100-yard performances through the Aggies’ first eight games. Both backs topped the century mark against UCLA, one of the worst rushing defenses in the country. Since Week 1, a 102-yard performance by Williams against Arkansas is the only real bright spot.

If you take out the UCLA game, that duo has combined for 523 yards on 146 carries – that’s an average of just 3.6 yards per carry. Since combining for five touchdowns against UCLA these two have just five touchdowns in the next seven games.

Kevin Sumlin has done a lot of tweaking an experimenting over the last several weeks. What he hasn’t been able to do is establish the run. Even if it takes 50 carries, the Aggies are going to force themselves into a 100-yard day from someone on Saturday.
