3. Coastal Carolina left it all on the field

I hope you like the picture of the College Football National Championship Trophy since I couldn’t actually find a picture for Coastal Carolina but there’s a reason for that. They haven’t been around in the FBS world long enough to have a gigantic photo gallery like every other team.

No, Coastal Carolina is as green as the plastic grass that the trophy itself is sitting on. This marks the first year that the Chanticleers of CCU are competing for a chance to go to a bowl game like all the other big-name programs do in the FBS.

So it’s their first year in the “big boy football” competition and things aren’t going so hot. The Chanticleers came into Arkansas sitting at 1-7, being run by an interim head coach and had to play their backup quarterback. You’d think Arkansas, being the SEC team they are, would’ve eaten this cupcake up in one bite.

Instead, CCU came ready to leave everything they had on the field in Fayetteville and that’s exactly what happened. The Chanticleers almost took down this Power Five team, not just because Arkansas is bad but because they fought.

For that, all credit for the way Arkansas stumbled and bumbled their way into a one point win should go to the team that gave them fits for four quarters. Best of luck going forward to this program.
