In an offensive heavy battle with Kentucky, Ole Miss football found the end zone in the last seconds to leave Lexington with a win. Here’s what we learned.

The Ole Miss Rebels have had an up and down season, plagued with injuries and sanctions. With the injury to starting quarterback Shea Patterson and a loss to Arkansas last week, the season seemed all but lost. However, freshman Jordan Ta’amu found D.K. Metcalf for the go ahead touchdown with five seconds left, giving the Rebels a much-needed win.

While Kentucky has struggled with injuries as of late, so have the Rebels. In a fight of offensive firepower and strength, Ole Miss came out on top. While it doesn’t mean much this season for Ole Miss as they have no possibility of post season play, this win is still huge for this team.

Jordan Ta’amu found a groove all his own, gashing Kentucky’s defense play after play on the way to the last second victory that shocked Lexington. This team has quite a few humps to jump over as the season closes out, featuring Texas A&M and the Egg Bowl. However, on Saturday night the Rebels are in celebration mode.

Here are my three takeaways from the last-minute win in Lexington.
