Miami football closed in on the ACC Coastal division title this past Saturday night with a convincing 28-10 victory over Virginia Tech.

That means the Hurricanes are nearly set to compete for the ACC championship, likely against fellow Top-10 Clemson in December. Both Miami and the Tigers picked up key wins in Week 10, as Clemson handed NC State its first league defeat, 38-31, on the road.

On the heels of those victories, both remain in the top spots as we move into Week 11 of the college football season in the ACC power rankings.

What about the rest of the conference?

Florida State stopped its losing streak with a three-point win over Syracuse and Virginia did the same by topping Georgia Tech, 40-36. Wake Forest played “part-time” ACC member Notre Dame, dropping a 48-37 decision.

Several teams had byes from the league this past week, but we are looking at a complete slate starting Thursday night with eight games on tap. The biggest will take place in Coral Gables when the Hurricanes and Irish renew their rivalry with a game that has huge College Football Playoff implications.

We also get the rivalry that used to determine the state of the ACC, as Clemson welcomes Florida State to Death Valley.
