College Football Playoff 2017: Projected Top 4 for Week 11
By Jesse Smith
4. Clemson
Clemson got the biggest win of the weekend knocking off No. 20 North Carolina State on the road, 38-31. It was a great win no doubt, but they got lucky that North Carolina State’s wide receivers didn’t get set on a big third down that was complete inside the five yard line. They ended up stopping the Wolfpack and the rest was history.
The Tigers are just a totally different team with quarterback Kelly Bryant under center. Bryant didn’t have a great game passing, but he did enough with his legs and arm to help his team amass 38 points on the road. He went 20-for-38 passing for 191 yards, one touchdown and one interception, but he also ran for 88 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns. In Week 10, Bryant had three total touchdowns and stayed upright for his team.
Sophomore safety K’Von Wallace made two big plays in the final drive breaking up one potential touchdown and intercepting quarterback Ryan Finley. Hopefully Dabo Sweeney and the coaching staff gave that young man a game ball.
This team is the most dangerous team of the group, if they keep Bryant healthy I don’t see many teams beating them unless you can throw the ball and the teams ahead of them don’t have great passing games in my humble option. Keep an eye on this at the end of the day.
