College Football Playoff 2017: Projected Top 4 for Week 11
By Jesse Smith
2. Alabama
Alabama has pretty much had smooth sailing all year, with a dominate defense, a great running game and a quarterback that can scare you with his arm and feet they seem to be a team that is a lock for the College Football Playoff. The one thing that hurts Alabama so far is their schedule they played a Florida State team that has now been decimated with injuries and an underachieving LSU team that they just knocked off 24-10.
This wasn’t one of the better performances by the sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts, but at the end of the day it got the job done for Alabama. Hurts went 11-for-24 passing for 183 yards and one touchdown. He also had 14 carries for 44 yards and one touchdown. Hurts combined for two touchdowns and 227 total yards.
The offense barely had over 300 total yards, but the defense did a great job at holding down the great running back duo that LSU has. LSU only ran for 151 yards which shows how good Alabama’s defense is and how important it is to be able to pass the ball if you think you are going to knock off Alabama this season.
