LSU football was beaten 24-10 on Saturday night. The Tigers’ series losing streak now extends to seven.

Another year and another loss to Alabama. The effort was there, but the loss still feels the same. Alabama did just enough to finish off LSU for another win. Surprisingly, the Tigers won the game on paper with an advantage in total yards 306-299. In addition, the LSU Tigers hung tough for most of the game.

Although this is true, the Alabama Crimson Tide will hold another victory over LSU’s head for another year. The Tigers are gonna have to wait yet another year to break the losing streak. Strangely enough, this game became frustrating. Not because LSU got a thorough beating. but the Tigers had a real chance to win this game.

Ultimately, Alabama cruised to a safe win but it wasn’t pretty. Also, the LSU defense performed all night long. They only allowed QB Jalen Hurts to throw for 183 passing yards with a passing rating of 53.1. Furthermore, LSU held the rushing yardage to 116 yards, on 36 carries for only a 3.2 yard average. But Alabama made the plays when it needed.

Now to the top five overreactions after the game.

5. LSU ‘s season is over

This loss stings as bad as ever. Losing to your rival is one thing. Losing to them for seven years straight is another. Additionally, LSU has only put up 73 points in the last seven matchups. It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out that the average is about 10 points a game. Ironically, the Tigers scored another 10 this time around.

That being said, the season is not over. LSU is now 6-3 and can still close out the season on a positive note. Coach Orgeron had this to say after the game.

"“We’re going to finish. There’s a lot of believe in our locker room right now. Those guys would be ready to play a game tomorrow morning I think.”"

That’s what you want to hear from your coach.
