Pick Analysis. Alabama. Minkah Fitzpatrick. 5. player. Scouting Report. CB. 48

The Buccaneers have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season. The offense is playing poorly, Jameis Winston has been underwhelming, the run game hasn’t gotten off the ground and the secondary is third-worst in the league.

Tampa Bay can’t seem to get off the field defensively because teams have been able to burn the Bucs through the air for first downs almost at will. They do have the lowest sack total in the league by a relatively wide margin, but there are so many problems on the defense it’s tough to pinpoint.

Minkah Fitzpatrick brings superstar potential to the defensive backfield and that’s exactly what the Buccaneers need. The defense needs a safety who can effectively cover receivers as well as step up in the run game. Fitzpatrick does both of those extremely well.

Some consider him the most well-rounded defensive back in the class and NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah even thinks he could be a bigger version of Tyrann Mathieu. That’s high praise.
