When you record a season-high 710 yards of total offense despite being without your top running back for much of the game and seeing your starting quarterback miss time with an injury himself, you have to look elsewhere to give kudos.

That goes to the “big guys” up front, as the offensive line completely dominated Wake Forest.

Led by possible future NFL first round picks Mike McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson, the group up front showed their skills and power this past weekend. McGlinchey started at left tackle alongside guard Nelson.

Sam Mustipher was at center with the right side featuring guard Alex Bars and tackle Tommy Kraemer.

Wake Forest entered leading the NCAA in tackles for loss with 74, averaging over nine per game. They were held to just four vs. the Irish, as star Duke Ejiofor had only two tackles. He came into the game with 6.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss on the year.

“It was a little sloppy, but the message is a win’s a win,” offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey said. “We have a good thing going here right now and we have to make sure we keep it going.”
