After getting its eighth win of the 2017 campaign, Washington football faces a season defining three-game stretch over the next few weeks.

If Washington football hangs on and wins out the rest of the way in the 2017 campaign, it’ll be in great position to have a case for a second consecutive trip to the College Football Playoff. A win over the Oregon Ducks on Nov. 4 was a good start to what will be a tough slate in the PAC-12 down the stretch.

The Huskies defeated the Ducks 38-3 at Husky Stadium to claim its fifth home win. Washington is a very tough team to defeat at home, which will also help down the stretch. Two of the last three games on tap come at home. Week 11 is the last road contest for the Huskies, coming against the Stanford Cardinal.

Oregon needs one more win to get bowl eligible. Head coach Willie Taggart has done a decent job turning around the Ducks after replacing former coach Mark Helfrich. Oregon has two more games this season, coming against the Arizona Wildcats and Oregon State Beavers.

With sophomore quarterback Justin Herbert missing due to injury, freshman Braxton Burmeister got another start. The Ducks have been suffering without Herbert behind center with a 1-4 record with Burmeister starting. Burmeister had a miserable time getting anything going.

Washington held the Ducks to 31 passing yards and no touchdowns through the air. Senior running back Royce Freeman led the way with 122 yards. Freeman only has a few more games left in an Oregon uniform.

It took a while for the Huskies to get off and running as the Ducks actually led the game at the end of the first quarter. However, Washington went on a 38-0 run to finish the game.

Now, let’s take a look at five overreactions from Washington’s win over Oregon in Week 10.
