Rose Bowl Game (Playoff No.1)

Rose Bowl (Playoff No. 1): Notre Dame (No. 3) vs. Alabama (No. 2)
Where: Rose Bowl Stadium (Pasadena, Calif.)
When: Jan. 1, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN
Last week’s projection: Wisconsin vs. Georgia

OK, so you remember the BCS title game with Notre Dame and Alabama? Well, just listen to me here. What if I told you we are on a collision course for that once again? You know, without the whole Notre Dame gets curb stomped into tiny pieces thing happening because who wants that again?

For Alabama and Georgia both, they are in a position to both reach the playoff regardless of what happens in the SEC title game (check next slide). As for the Irish, they have a chance to solidify their case for a playoff spot with a trip to Miami this weekend. Under the lights and in a somewhat hostile atmosphere, the Irish can notch a top win and give Brian Kelly his first big win on the road in a long time.

Week 11 outlook: Alabama has a trip to Mississippi State this weekend and while the Bulldogs can provide some what of a resistance (as much as one can against Alabama at least) Don’t expect the Tide to fall. If they do, oh boy do things get interesting (See OU-TCU winner). As for Notre Dame, like most-one loss teams at this point they’ve reached the point where every game is now a playoff game. So what if the Irish lose? Well, You can put the winner of OU-TCU into this spot or maybe even the team that defeats Notre Dame, the Miami Hurricanes?
