1. UCF Knights (No. 18)

When will Central Florida get the respect it deserves? Unfortunately, it won’t be until this program changes conferences, which isn’t likely to happen any time soon. The Knights are 8-0 on the season with blowout wins over Maryland and Memphis and a strong victory over bowl-bound SMU.

Scott Frost has turned this program around quickly and it seems like the days of mediocrity are long gone. Still, an 8-0 record and few close victories apparently aren’t good enough to be ranked higher than No. 18, apparently. In fact, the Knights are ranked lower than a plethora of two-loss teams, which is a slap in the face.

Strength of schedule is clearly the most important aspect, outside of record, in the College Football Playoff rankings and playing in the American Athletic Conference doesn’t help.

McKenzie Milton is one of the best quarterbacks in college football that no one talks about and he could very well lead the Knights to an undefeated record, but the playoff seems to be out of the question.
