Florida State football announced that they have rescheduled a cancelled September contest for Dec. 2 with Louisiana-Monroe.
The Seminoles (3-5, 2-4 ACC) take on Clemson this week in their final ACC contest before dates with Delaware State and Florida.
Florida State needs three wins over its final four to secure a record-setting 36th consecutive bowl appearance. The Seminoles and head coach Jimbo Fisher could get in with five wins, as it has been done in the past.
“I appreciate the efforts of our administration as well as the administration and Coach Viator at ULM to get this game rescheduled,” Fisher told Seminoles.com. “It was unfortunate for both teams that we were not able to play this game in September, and both teams deserve the chance to play their 12th game of the season. Any time we have the opportunity to play in Doak Campbell Stadium in front of our fans we are excited.
“However, this week our complete focus is on Clemson.”
The game with Louisiana-Monroe will kick at noon ET from Doak Campbell Stadium on the same day as the ACC Championship game.
Along with the good news of having an extra game to try and get bowl eligible, Jacques Patrick is expected to return to practice this week in the backfield alongside star freshman Cam Akers. Patrick was reported to be out for the year with an injury.
Last Saturday, Florida State snapped a two-game losing streak with a 27-24 victory over Syracuse. They also hold one-possession wins over Wake Forest and Duke to go with losses vs. Alabama, NC State, Miami, Louisville and Boston College.

Is this a low point for the Seminoles? Rescheduling a game against an inferior foe to potentially gain bowl eligibility seems like a stretch for such a storied program.
