1. No talk of interest from Jimbo’s end

Yes, we get it. The reports that have come out are speaking of Texas A&M’s interest in Jimbo Fisher. Nowhere does it say that both sides have engaged in previous talks and the mutual interest is there, which means this entire situation is based on purely one side’s interest.

Let’s give an example for this. A few offseasons ago, Michigan was rumored to be interested in Les Miles and poaching him from LSU and it was the hottest story for weeks. However, Miles shot it down by saying he had no interest in the job. This kind of stuff happens all the time and it takes a coach saying “no thanks” for the fire to be put out.

Jimbo is keeping quiet on all things coaching-related because the media doesn’t necessarily need to know what his plans are outside of the current season. They are relatively good about not poking and prodding at a guy in the midst of his most stressful season.

Could this rumor be based only on what the fans, boosters and athletic department of Texas A&M want with zero consideration of Fisher’s end of things? It’s looking that way.
