1. Playing for head coach Bret Bielema

Say what you want about teams that play with no heart when their head coaches are on the hot seat, but it can truly motivate a team. While Bret Bielema isn’t the most beloved coach by his own fan base in the SEC, not even close, the Razorback players don’t want to lose the guy who they committed to play football for.

There’s a reason these kids chose Arkansas and it wasn’t because the Razorbacks were a college football powerhouse at the time of their commitments, but rather because they believed in Bielema. Things haven’t quite gone as planned and many believe he’s on his last leg, but the guys don’t want to see him go.

A road win over LSU would significantly change things. That would push Arkansas’ record to 5-5 on the year with Mississippi State and Missouri left on the schedule which are both relatively winnable games at home. Bielema going from 2-5 to bowl eligibility thanks to five straight wins to end the year could save his job.

Arkansas fans might look at that as a nightmare scenario because most don’t want him back, but this could be a turnaround game for the players who want to win for their head coach.
