Baylor Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Texas Tech in Week 11
Matt Rhule and Baylor football have a chance to win two straight after losing eight to start the year, in Week 11 against Texas Tech.
Baylor football finally got its first win of the season over the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 10. Kansas should now be the team that finishes in the basement of the Big 12 standings for yet another year. However, in Week 11, Baylor takes on the Texas Tech Red Raiders at home at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.
Last year, Texas Tech defeated Baylor behind a solid effort from former quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Red Raiders are a pretty heavy favorite by slightly more than one touchdown entering the matchup.
Texas Tech has hit a rough stretch of late with four straight losses to the West Virginia Mountaineers, Iowa State Cyclones, Oklahoma Sooners, and Kansas State Wildcats. The last win for the Red Raiders came against Kansas on Oct. 7. Texas Tech has only one Big 12 win this season and could easily finish in the bottom three.
This could actually be a battle between Texas Tech and Baylor for eighth place in the Big 12. It did not seem very possible for Baylor to finish anywhere but last place in the conference just a few weeks ago.
There is not a chance for Baylor to make a bowl game now. Most of the rest of the season for the Bears is about gaining some momentum for the 2018 campaign under head coach Matt Rhule. Meanwhile, Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury is on one of the hottest seats of any in the nation.
