3. Charlie Brewer sets career-mark in single-game passing touchdowns

Baylor has gotten huge efforts from a freshman quarterback in Charlie Brewer of late. Brewer tossed three touchdowns last week in the win over Kansas. He also threw for more than 300 yards while completing nearly 80 percent of his passes.

It would only take a high scoring half for Brewer to show what he can do against a Texas Tech secondary well-known for giving up some passing yards. He’s stepped up huge since taking over for sophomore Zach Smith.

The Bears have continuously improved the quarterback situation over the course of the season. Smith was an improvement over Anu Solomon, who started the season with the nod behind center.

And, Brewer is a step up from Smith. He’s not as turnover prone as Smith was as he’s only tossed one interception in his career. Meanwhile, Smith threw nearly as many interceptions as touchdowns in his few starts this year.
