Oklahoma might have a loss, but the Sooners are within striking distance of a College Football Playoff berth. Can they make it in?

At the beginning of the season, we knew Oklahoma lost a lot of talent to the NFL. If you check current rosters you will see important rookies claiming Oklahoma. Besides losing a lot of quality players, head coach Bob Stoops stepped down and Lincoln Riley stepped up from the offensive coordinator position to be the head man. Riley was viewed by most as one of the hot coordinators, but nobody knew if he was ready to be the shot caller at a prestigious program like Oklahoma just yet.

Having quarterback Baker Mayfield back in the fold that was enough to give this team College Football Playoff hopes. With all the chaos going around college football right now the senior quarterback is the odds on favorite to win the Heisman. He has had multiple signature victories (Ohio State and Oklahoma State both on the road) and has time to get a few more.

Right now they are in a tie for first place in the Big 12 with TCU. And guess what? They play TCU this weekend. At 7-1 (4-1) Oklahoma sits at No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings. Can they make a push to be in the Top 4?
