LSU Football: 5 reasons the Tigers beat the Razorbacks

4. The strength of recent opponents, particularly Week 10 plays a big role

Let’s talk about Arkansas for a second. They pulled off a one point victory in Week 10 after mounting a big comeback against, wait for it, Coastal Carolina. Had they lost, it would have possibly been the most embarrassing SEC loss of the decade. Cole Kelley’s touchdown, shown below, put the Razorbacks ahead late. However, this isn’t a win the program should be proud of. Not by a long shot.

On the other side, the Tigers are coming off a 24-10 loss against No. 2 Alabama in Week 10. While this wasn’t a win for LSU, you have to feel a heck of a lot better coming off a loss to Alabama then a one point win over the likes of Coastal Carolina. This will be a game of confidence and momentum, something the Tigers have quite a bit of and the Razorbacks just don’t.
