Florida State football traveled to Clemson to take on the Tigers and things didn’t go the Seminoles’ way. Here’s what we learned from the 31-14 loss.

This has been one of the worst seasons in Florida State football history but it nearly took a turn for the best on Saturday against Clemson. Before the season, this was looked at as one of the better games of the week, but with how the season has gone, it was looked at as nothing more than just a regular ACC battle.

Clemson, the reigning national champ, entered the game as the No. 4 team in the country, looking to build on its playoff resume while the Seminoles were just trying to make a bowl game at 3-5. The loss now drops Florida State to 3-6 on the year and it must win out in order to play in the postseason.

Florida State will look to regroup so it can make a bowl and even finish with a winning record with a postseason victory. It’s wild how far the Seminoles have fallen from preseason expectations.

Here’s what we learned from Florida State’s Week 11 loss to rival Clemson.

3. The Seminoles haven’t quit yet

All the talk over the last few weeks was that Florida State seemed to have quit on the 2017 season because there was nothing left to play for. If you ask Jimbo Fisher, he’d tell you the exact opposite was true.

After a 35-3 loss to Boston College a couple of weeks ago, you’d have a hard time believing that, but the Seminoles put up one heck of a fight against No. 4 Clemson on the road after falling behind 17-0 early. The Seminoles were able to claw their way back into the game and score on a big 60-yard trick play pass from James Blackman to Ryan Izzo.

It says a lot about a team to not quit when everything seems to be working against it on the road down by three scores, but the Seminoles stepped up when it mattered.

Contrary to popular belief, the Seminoles haven’t given up on this season just yet.
