2. James Blackman is a warrior

This usually goes without saying for opponents of the Clemson Tigers, but the Florida State offensive line, filled with star recruits, was completely over-matched. James Blackman was hit early and often and the run game couldn’t get going.

How many times did James Blackman get hurried and/or hit? It seemed as if each time he dropped back, he was rushed and far too often he was knocked down. Some were late hits, yes, but Blackman was given the all-out blitz and bull-rush treatment all day long and he hung in there.

Blackman made his fair share of mistakes, but Jimbo Fisher has to be proud of how well his young gunslinger played in a hostile environment. He made big plays when it mattered most and even when he threw an interception in the fourth quarter, he came back out there and took the Seminoles down the field.

Not many young quarterbacks can take the hits he does and continue to get back up and make plays with his arm. This kid is an absolute warrior.
