Saturday’s monstrous slate of college football games is off and running in its early games as multiple ranked teams are in action.

One of the many feature games in Week 11 is No. 15 Oklahoma State at No. 21 Iowa State. Of course, the Cyclones jumpstarted their season thanks to a road win over the Oklahoma Sooners and are now trying to rid the Cowboys of Oklahoma State of any chance of grabbing a New Year’s Six bowl game.

The Cyclones jumped out to an early 14-0 lead thanks to two quick touchdowns. The Cowboys answered with a pair of touchdowns of their own to tie the game 14-14 midway through the second quarter.

The main highlight of the first half was a 22-yard touchdown run by Montgomery. While on paper it was only 22 yards, Montgomery had to have danced around for an extra 5-10 yards, slipping by the Cowboys’ defense in an elusive run.

In a play that was designed to the right, there was no hole that opened up. Using his vision, Montgomery was able to slide through a few Oklahoma State tackle attempts before kicking it to the outside using his great speed. From there, some nice vision pair with agile moves got Montgomery to the end zone for the second Cyclones touchdown of the day.

Montgomery finished the first quarter with 33 rushing yards on seven attempts. Other than that long run, the Cowboys defense has held him in check so far as they attempt to claw back into the game.
