Oklahoma football was able to make a statement in the College Football Playoff race with a big win over No. 6 TCU on Saturday night.

In one of the best games of the week, on paper, Oklahoma football demolished No. 6 TCU to essentially leap into the top four in the impending College Football Playoff rankings which will be released on Tuesday night. The victory for the Sooners improves their record to 9-1 on the year and they are one step closer to the Big 12 title game.

With the chaos of college football in Week 11, the Sooners should undoubtedly move up in the polls, especially with how impressive they looked against the Horned Frogs.

Here’s what we learned from the Sooners’ impressive win in Week 11.

3. Baker Mayfield is your Heisman favorite

No more debate, Baker Mayfield is your Heisman Trophy frontrunner. The senior quarterback for the Sooners torched the Big 12’s best defense on Saturday night, passing for 333 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

Not only did he torch the Horned Frogs through the air, he rushed for 50 yards and showed off his toughness after hurting his ankle early in the game.

There were favorites to start the season such as Sam Darnold, Lamar Jackson, Saquon Barkley, Josh Rosen and even in-state rival Mason Rudolph, but Mayfield has silenced all doubters as he continues to make defenses look silly (although that’s not tough to do in the Big 12).

If Mayfield doesn’t win the Heisman Trophy with the way he’s been playing, it would be an absolute shock. He had his Heisman moment tonight after toughing through an ankle injury to put up monster numbers in a 28-20 win.
