Ole Miss is nearing the end of a challenging season. The Rebels are one win away from what could have been earning bowl eligibility, but they’ve imposed a bowl ban on themselves this season. Bowl or not, the wins are still important for this fanbase and these players.
While the season hasn’t been stellar, it’s been far from the train wreck that is currently underway in Knoxville and Fayetteville. Ole Miss did lose to the Razorbacks earlier this season, but they now sit above them in the SEC standings after the Hogs were blasted by LSU in Week 11.
Ole Miss jumped out to a 28-0 lead before the Ragin’ Cajuns knew what had happened to them. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu was responsible for all four of those touchdowns. He had almost single-handily put the game out of reach before the 11 minute mark in the second quarter.
The Rebels and their fans are looking for positive signs entering the 2018 season. That’s been more challenging to find given the rash of injuries that has befallen the team of late, but the reasons for optimism haven’t fallen away completely.
