UCF football remained among the few unbeaten teams with a big win over UConn in Week 11. Here are three takeaways from the Knights win over the Huskies.

Thankfully the contrived Civil ConFLiCT is no longer a thing. The rivalry trophy commissioned by former UConn head coach Bob Diaco was never acknowledged by UCF, and it was mercifully retired even before Diaco was ousted from his position. But Connecticut still played gamely as though the rivalry was still a thing, pushing the Knights in Week 11.

That said, UCF managed to stay among the last few teams in the FBS with perfect records. Scott Frost’s squad racked up over 500 total yards of offense as they rolled to a 49-24 victory on Saturday afternoon. The win moved UCF to 9-0 on the season as they continue to march through the American Athletic Conference schedule

The Knights continue to make the strongest case among Group of Five teams hoping to land in a New Year’s Six bowl game. Things are also continuing to line up for a possible run at a College Football Playoff berth. As long as they keep winning and take the AAC crown, the New Year’s Six is a floor rather than a ceiling for this squad.

What else did we learn about the Knights on Saturday in their conference showdown against the Huskies? Keep reading for three takeaways from the blowout victory by UCF in the early time slot during Week 11 action.
