West Virginia football topped a tough Kansas State team on the road to earn win number seven. Here are three things we learned from the Mountaineers’ win.

The Mountaineers used a compact offensive punch to knock out the Kansas State Wildcats on the road in Week 11. West Virginia improves to 7-3 with the win and Kansas State falls to 5-5.

Here are three things we learned from the Mountaineers’ victory.

3. David Sills V has secured the Biletnikoff Award

David Sills V has caught more than half, 18, of Will Grier‘s 34 touchdown passes this season. That includes a pair of scores on Saturday the first being a 75-yard go-ahead touchdown to give the Mountaineers a 7-6 lead.

His 18 touchdowns are far and away the most in the country. His chemistry with will Grier is outstanding and he still has a few games left to go. He’s currently tied with guys like Justin Blackmon and Deandre Hopkins for 21st all-time in single season receiving touchdowns. Troy Edwards (Louisiana Tech, 1998) holds the record with 27 receiving scores.

It’s going to take another gear for Sills to catch Edwards, but the fact that he’s in the conversation speaks volumes about how talented he is. Regardless of what happens over the final weeks of the season, there’s no way anyway snatches the Biletnikoff Award, the nation’s award for the best receiver, from his hands.
