If there any doubters about “The U” being back, Miami football squashed them Saturday night with a dominating performance vs. Notre Dame.

The unbeaten Hurricanes controlled all aspects of the contest with the Fighting Irish in prime-time, picking up a 41-8 victory and likely seeing a big climb towards the top when the new edition of the College Football Playoff rankings are released on Tuesday.

Miami’s defense forced turnovers, scored touchdowns and ended the Heisman campaign of Notre Dame running back Josh Adams.

On the other side of the ball, Malik Rosier didn’t turn the ball over, Travis Homer racked up 146 yards rushing and Deejay Dallas scored two touchdowns.

Here are five deserving game balls to members of the Miami Hurricanes:

The sophomore from West Palm Beach continues to thrive as the main running back for the Hurricanes.

Standing just under 6-foot and weighing 195 pounds, Homer is a perfect blend of size and speed.

Against an Irish defense that had played exceptionally well in big games vs. Georgia and Southern Cal, Homer ran for 146 yards on 18 carries, good for over eight yards per attempt. That included a long of 40 on the night.

And while he didn’t hit paydirt, he did record his third 100-yard rushing game of the season. Homer also added two receptions covering 24 yards in the passing game.
