Washington State football held on to beat Utah 33-25 in Week 11. Check out my three takeaways from the game.
The Washington State Cougars have improved to 9-2 on the 2017 season, 6-2 in the Pac-12, after beating the Utah Utes 33-25 in Week 11. The Cougs quarterback Luke Falk threw 69 times against the Utes defense only running for 1.6 yards per carry. Alex Grinch’s defense forced four interceptions and held the Utes offense to 1.7 yards per carry on the day.
The Cougars will take on the Washington Huskies, who are currently 8-2, and face the Utes before before hosting the Cougars in the Apple Cup on Nov. 25. The winner of the Apple Cup will enter the Pac-12 Championship game on Dec. 1. The USC Trojans have locked down the southern spot in the Pac-12 title game, which doesn’t seem like it will impact the College Football Playoff.
Washington should be the favorite in the Apple Cup but the Cougars have their best shot in over a decade to bring Mike Leach a North title and possible conference championship as well. The USC Trojans and Sam Darnold are hardly unbeatable and will represent the south in the conference title game.
Here are my three takeaways from the Week 11 matchup.
