In defeat, the Seminoles might have played one of their better games of the season this past weekend.

Florida State got in a hole early vs. Clemson, but the ‘Noles battled back, making it a three-point game early in the fourth after James Blackman hit Ryan Izzo for a 60-yard touchdown strike.

However, the Tigers scored two touchdowns to close it out, sending Florida State (3-6, 3-5 ACC) to a fifth league loss.

Jimbo Fisher’s bunch must win-out vs. Delaware State, Florida and Louisiana Monroe to keep their bowl streak alive at 36.

After winning five of its first six, Virginia now boldly faces going just 6-6 this year with two games against Miami and Virginia Tech remaining on the schedule.

The Cavailers (6-4, 3-3 ACC) have lost three of four to Boston College, Pittsburgh and Louisville, with the latter coming this past weekend.

As a collective offense, Virginia managed just 277 yards, including 63 on 28 rushing carries.

The Cardinals once again relied on Lamar Jackson, and this week, the reigning Heisman winner delivered it all.

Jackson passed for 195 yards and three touchdowns, adding 147 yards and a score on the ground vs. Virginia.

Thanks to wins over Florida State and the Cavaliers over the past three weeks, Louisville (6-4, 3-4 ACC) can still finish out the season strong with games against Syracuse and Kentucky on the horizon.

All Wake Forest needed this past Saturday was a kick-start.

The Demon Deacons got that vs. Syracuse, falling behind 38-24 before scoring 40 points over the final two quarters to claim their sixth victory of the season.

John Wolford surpassed 350 yards and three touchdowns for the third straight game, adding another 136 yards and three scores on the ground. Matt Colburn rushed for 237 yards and scored twice.

Wake Forest (6-4, 3-3 ACC) closes with NC State on Saturday night before hosting Duke.
