Perhaps the heart and soul of the Miami defense, Jaquan Johnson led the charge once again for the Hurricanes. Johnson led all Miami tacklers with eight tackles, including a tackle for loss, a pass break up and an interception.

Johnson has stepped his play up in big games this season, including 12 tackles against Florida State, 11 tackles against North Carolina, and seven tackles against Virginia Tech along with an interception. Johnson set the tone early for the Miami defense, picking off Brandon Wimbush in the first quarter, being the first player to wear the “Turnover Chain” on the night.

He was seemingly around the ball all night, which explains his team-high eight tackles, and it’s always like legendary Miami receiver Santana Moss once said, “Big time players, step up in big games”, and Johnson did just that.
