Notre Dame Football: What exactly is wrong with the Irish offense?
By Dana Becker
Something’s up with Adams
Even if he is less than 100 percent and dealing with non-football related issues, Adams should be able to do better than this.
The Notre Dame offensive line features two likely first round NFL Draft picks in Quinton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey.
But after racking up 607 yards during a four-game stretch heading into November, Adams has failed to remain at his best.
Against Wake Forest, the junior ran for 22 yards on five carries. Last week against the Hurricanes, the former Heisman contender was held to 40 yards on 16 carries.
Adams also hasn’t scored a touchdown since October, a month in which he hit the end zone five times.

It’s also good to note that this is the most carries in a short amount of time for Adams at the college level. Last season he had 158 carries, five more than he has right now, but that was spread out over more games.
