After a loss against Auburn, Georgia football fell to No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings. They fell, prematurely, from their top spot.

The Georgia Bulldogs were the top dog in College Football a week ago. However, a 40-17 loss to Auburn brought them down to No. 7. The Tigers shocked the Bulldogs, running over their strong defense with even stronger offense.

While that loss is embarrassing, it is not the end. The Bulldogs, in my opinion, should still be in the top four. Here is my argument as to why.

1. Georgia has already locked up the SEC East

The Bulldogs locked up the SEC East already and have a date set, likely with Alabama, in the Championship game. The fact that they have already locked up a division championship is something that should be included in the conversation for the Top 4.

While the SEC East isn’t exactly the strongest in the world, the Bulldogs have still blown past the East like they weren’t even there. That is something that has to be noticed and given quite a bit of thought. It is likely that if Georgia blows past either Auburn or Alabama or whoever in the SEC championship, this team finds their way back into the top.
