Week 11 brought with it upsets, shake ups and shockers across the SEC. Will week 12 be much of the same despite big name match ups?

Before we get to Week 12, let’s do a quick recap of the madness that was the SEC in week 11. To start off, Auburn shocked the world and the Georgia Bulldogs, knocking them off their top ranked pedestal in a 40-17 victory at Jordan-Hare. As a result of that, the Bulldogs now find themselves at No. 7 and on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff. However, as the SEC East Champion, a championship victory in a few weeks could change all that.

LSU handled a struggling Razorback team, 33-10, at Tiger Stadium in the morning slot. If the Razorbacks thought the crowd would be quieted by the early hours, boy were they wrong. South Carolina escaped the Gators with a 28-20 home victory. Mizzou got their second SEC victory of the season with a 50-17 squashing over the Vols. Kentucky handled the Vanderbilt Commodores 44-21 to get back in the win column after a heart breaker against Ole Miss.

Perhaps even more surprising than the Auburn victory, Mississippi State gave a struggling and injured Alabama fits all evening long. The Tide escaped with a 31-24 victory over the Bulldogs that kept them in the Top 4, but man was it close. Alabama now sits at the No. 1 spot of the College Football Playoff rankings after Georgia fell on Saturday.

In terms of non-conference match ups, the SEC did what was expected. Texas A&M beat New Mexico 55-14 to become bowl eligible once again and Ole Miss handled the Ragin’ Cajuns of ULL 50-22. These two face off in Week 12 in what could be a good one, so keep an eye out.

Now that the recap is out of the way, let’s get on with the upset alerts in week 12.
