For UCLA football to have a chance against the USC Trojans in Week 12, Josh Rosen needs to have one of the best games of his career.

UCLA football has its biggest rivalry of the season on tap in Week 12 when the Bruins take the field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to face the No. 11 USC Trojans. Junior quarterback Josh Rosen for UCLA faces sophomore quarterback Sam Darnold for the Trojans.

For the Bruins, this is about getting bowl eligible and defeating the most hated opponent on the schedule. For the Trojans, it’s about keeping College Football Playoff hopes alive and continuing on the track to possibly a Pac-12 Championship. USC already clinched the Pac-12 South with only the Arizona Wildcats challenging the Trojans.

With all the ups and downs the Bruins have experienced this season, Rosen has been solid throughout. If not for Rosen, UCLA would not have a chance at getting to bowl eligibility. And, head coach Jim Mora might be out of a job with how bad the defense has been.

Both Rosen and Darnold are potential first round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. This game will have  a lot of stakes in both quarterbacks’ draft stock. However, Darnold has already announced that he might come back to USC for another year in 2018.

With an injury and inconsistent play tied with Wyoming’s Josh Allen, it could be just Rosen and Darnold sitting at the top of NFL Draft boards. For two teams with very potent offenses surrounding the quarterbacks, expect a shootout and plenty of points.

USC does enter the matchup as a 16 point favorite over the Bruins.

Here are three reasons Josh Rosen outplays Sam Darnold in the Week 12 matchup between the UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans.
