The quest to earn a 36th consecutive bowl game hits the home stretch for Florida State football this Saturday.

After a spirited effort vs. Clemson last week, the Seminoles (3-6) have three games left to reach .500 and six victories. While they could earn a bowl berth at 5-7, the odds are much better if they can defeat their next three opponents.

The first of those three should be nothing more than a cakewalk, as Delaware State (2-8) shouldn’t pose much of a threat.

However, this Florida State team is unlike any we have seen in recent memory. The ‘Noles have struggled on both sides of the ball, giving up 30 points in each of their last three losses.

Delaware State is coming off a 33-20 victory over Morgan State, but had lost back-to-back games prior to that.

By the way, that 35 consecutive bowl appearances is currently tied with Nebraska for the longest streak in college football history.

Here’s how to watch Florida State vs. Delaware State on Saturday:

Date: Saturday, Nov. 18
Time: 12 p.m. ET
Location: Tallahassee, Fla.
Venue: Doak Campbell Stadium
TV: ACC Network
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Keys to Victory

For Florida State, it is all about not letting the pressure get to them.

One slip vs. Delaware State, Florida next week or UL Monroe in December and the odds of extending that consecutive bowl appearances record to 36 go way down.

This should be even for these Seminoles, as Jacques Patrick made a surprise return last week and will have a field day running with Cam Akers against this defense.

James Blackman has the chance to gain some valuable experience and confidence ahead of playing Florida in Gainesville and “The Swamp” next week, and even that ultra-talented defense that has allowed over 30 points three times this year can get back on track.

Prediction

Just win, baby. The Seminoles don’t even need to worry about style points at this time of the season. Instead, go out, take care of business and move to the next game. Expect Jimbo Fisher to have his team well-prepared and zoned in on the task at hand in this one.

Prediction: Florida State 31, Delaware State 0
