2. Brandon Peters shows up

Since Brandon Peters took over as the starting quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines, they’re 3-0 and on the upswing. Peters, a 6-foot-5 sophomore from Indiana, has shown poise and leadership. The team has rallied around him and it seems the backup’s backup is better than the starter and the backup. Peters has thrown for over 300 yards, and has a 4-0 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He’s averaging over seven yards per passing attempt as well.

While Peters has been efficient he hasn’t had a break out game. In Week 11 against Maryland he threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns sitting over eight yards per passing attempt.

While Wisconsin does have the S&P+’s top rated defense you can equally argue about their quality of opponent. I thoroughly believe the Badgers have a good defense but I also believe they haven’t played an offense with even remotely a pulse. If their best opponent is Iowa, the Badgers have the 108th ranked offense in the country per Bill C’s rankings.

Michigan’s defense is going to get turnovers against the Badgers giving Peters the chance to either shine or fall apart in the spotlight of upsetting the Badgers. Peters is going to shine. The Las Vegas odds are 7.5 points in favor of the home Badgers but that equates to 4.5 points when you take away home field advantage and that means Peters will put up some points in the contest.
