3. Brandon Wimbush rushes for 150 yards

Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush has been inconsistent in the run game over his last few games, but is on track for a solid performance should he maintain his current streak. As it stands right now, Wimbush’s game logs in terms of rushing would form a perfect pendulum throughout the entire season.

To give you a sense of what that looks like, here are Wimbush’s per game rushing totals over the 2017 season:

vs. Temple                                               101
vs. Georgia                                               1
vs. Boston College                                 207
vs. Michigan State                                  52
vs. Miami (OH)                                         36
vs. USC                                                      106
vs. NC State                                              21
vs. Wake Forest                                      110
vs. Miami (FL)                                           24

As you can see, with the exception of the Michigan State game, Wimbush has followed every outing of under 36 yards with a 100-yard or greater performance. Look for him to continue his streak this week as he takes on a sub-par Navy defense.

Wimbush has always played better when he has the run game to fall back on, a courtesy he should enjoy against the nation’s 94th ranked run defense. The third-year junior will likely shy away from throwing the ball after last week’s poor showing against Miami, providing the opportunity for a revenge game of sorts on the ground. Don’t be surprised to see him top 150.
