1. Cam Akers has a mutli-touchdown game

Florida State has had a bad offense this year. There are plenty of factors that went in to that, but one person that shouldn’t carry any of that blame is freshman running back Cam Akers. He’s gotten an addition boost from the injury of Jacques Patrick. The junior was feared to be out for the season but returned briefly against Clemson. He’s getting healthy, but he doesn’t look to be 100 percent yet.

Akers is withing range of a 1,000 yard season. He enters Week 12 with 736 yards rushing, but only three touchdowns. Scoring (and wins) has eluded the entire Florida State offense for much of the year. However, Akers’ best game of the year came in a win over Syracuse where he rushed for 199 yards and two scores.

There were high expectations on Akers coming out of high school. The Noles needed to replace stud tail back Dalvin Cook. Akers has shown glimpses of the same explosiveness and game-changing ability. He’ll have plenty of room to run against Delaware State as he continues the start of a promising collegiate career.
