After a near upset of Alabama Mississippi State football climbed the rankings. Now they’re set to take on Arkansas. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are in quite the predicament. Athletic Director Jeff Long has just been fired and it would seem that head coach Bret Bielema is next up. The team is 4-6 on the season, with just one conference win over Ole Miss. Not exactly promising numbers when you’re welcoming high-flying Mississippi State to your house.

On the flip side, Nick Fitzgerald and Mississippi State are having quite the season. They are coming off a near upset of Alabama, sitting at 7-3. All three losses have come to SEC teams in Georgia, Auburn and Alabama. All of those teams now sit in the top seven, so not too shabby for the Bulldogs.

Here is how you can watch what may be one of the last Arkansas games coached by Bret Bielema.

Date: November 18, 2017

Venue: Razorback Stadium

Keys to Victory

Arkansas is seemingly in shambles and it likely won’t get better against Mississippi State. However, to be successful they will need to shut down Nick Fitzgerald both through the air and on the ground. He has been more than successful this season and will likely run all over this struggling Arkansas team. The Razorbacks average over 420 yards allowed a game, not a statistic that is particularly promising going into Saturday.

For Mississippi State, the key will be not to underestimate the Razorbacks. To simply write them off would be a grave mistake that could result in quite the embarrassing loss and a plummet in the rankings. Nick Fitzgerald will need to simply continue what he has been doing and keep his game relatively mistake free as to not give the Razorbacks any unearned confidence.

Prediction

Nick Fitzgerald goes for 100 yards on the ground at least in addition to 150 through the air and puts up a total of four touchdowns on the Razorbacks. The Mississippi State defense, who found a way to shut down Derrius Guice and LSU earlier this season, will hold Arkansas to a field goal at most in a game that will be all Bulldogs from the first snap.

We will likely see mostly Austin Allen on Saturday, as Cole Kelley was arrested for a DWI earlier this week. Just like earlier this season he will not have success, putting yet another nail in Bret Bielema’s coffin of a career at Arkansas.

Final Score: Mississippi State 31 Arkansas 3
