Alabama football maintained their pristine record with a 56-0 victory over Mercer Saturday. Here are three takeaways from the Crimson Tide’s latest win.
Another day, another dominant Alabama win in the world of college football. Nick Saban’s squad continued in their winning ways against the Bears, essentially eliminating Mercer from the get-go. With the game slipping away early, quarterback Jalen Hurts was removed early into the second quarter following a seven yard touchdown pass to Josh Jacobs.
Last week’s matchup with Mississippi State provided quite a scare for the Tide, but that game was quickly put behind them after a 35-0 trouncing of Mercer in the first half. Alabama’s defense was as efficient as they’ve ever been, limiting the Bears to only 160 yards over the course of their Week 12 shutout.
Saban already has his eyes on the College Football Playoff, and his players proved that as they played no games with their overwhelmed Mercer opponent. Alabama did their job against Mercer at home, but will face their toughest test of the season as they head to Auburn to take on the No. 6 Tigers. However, here’s a look at three takeaways from this week’s win before getting into that.
